Brian Mason Shares His Journey to Christ
For Brian Mason, faith was something he grew up with. Raised Catholic, he attended Sunday Mass and went to monthly confession. But for years, he admits he went through the motions without fully understanding the depth and meaning of his faith, particularly the Eucharist.
That began to change when Brian was 14.
Until then, Brian and his siblings spent their days outside playing games and sports, enjoying the ordinary rhythm of childhood. Then a deceptive relationship with a foreign exchange student led to a shocking experience that would alter the course of Brian’s life.
Brian withdrew. The talkative, happy teenager became quiet and carried the weight of what had happened largely by himself. He buried the experience and kept it secret for 41 years.
After high school, Brian pursued his interest in the creative and artistic world. He worked as a DJ at a local radio station, providing music and weather reports, before an opportunity opened at a local television station.
His dream was to become a producer and director.
In 1988, Brian decided to chase that dream all the way to Hollywood. He took his earnings, bought a car and drove to California with a movie script he had written, hoping to make a name for himself in the film industry.
But Hollywood proved far different from the dream he had imagined.
After six months, Brian was out of money. He was going hungry and eventually found himself sleeping on the floor of a Jewish cult leader’s home. As he encountered what he describes as the darker side of the filmmaking world, Brian found himself at a crossroads.
He didn’t know what to do.
Then, almost by chance, he walked into a Catholic church.
Brian didn’t realize it at the time, but that simple decision would become a turning point in his life.
Inside the church, Brian experienced what he describes as a spiritual enlightenment. His understanding of God began to change, and what had once seemed like a routine religious life took on an entirely new meaning.
For Brian, it was the beginning of a new life.
His journey was not one of simply returning to the faith he had known as a child. It was a deeper encounter with God, one that brought him from years of carrying darkness and pain into an understanding of God’s mercy, grace and forgiveness.
Today, Brian shares his story as a testimony to the transforming power of faith.
His message is one of hope: No matter how long someone has carried pain, how far they have wandered or how dark life may become, God’s mercy can lead them toward a new beginning.
Brian will share his story of coming to Christ at the October Breakfast Event, offering a firsthand account of his journey from darkness to light and the faith that changed his life.
Come hear Brian Mason’s story of transformation, faith and new life through God’s saving grace.
From darkness to light through the saving grace of God, Brian has left a lifestyle of darkness and found peace and happiness through God’s mercy.
