September 4, 2026 – Town of Jackson, Wi – On September 3, 2026, at 4:13 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center took a report of a vehicle versus bicycle accident on Division Road at Western Avenue in the Town of Jackson. WASO Deputies, Jackson Fire and EMS, and Jackson Police were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

While enroute witnesses to the crash informed dispatch that the striking vehicle had fled the scene to the east.
Ozaukee County was notified and requested to begin looking for the suspect vehicle. Upon arrival of first responders, the striking vehicle was confirmed to have fled.
The bicyclist, a male in his mid 60’s from Germantown, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported to a medical facility by Jackson EMS.
Based upon witness information and on-scene evidence, a suspect vehicle and driver were identified. While continuing the investigation, Washington County Deputies located the suspect vehicle in Ozaukee County.
A traffic stop was initiated, at which point the suspect failed to yield to law enforcement.
A short pursuit ensued with both Washington and Ozaukee County Law Enforcement before the driver ultimately pulled over and was taken into custody by 2:50 a.m.
The driver, a male in his early 30s, is from out-of-state and was in the area for work. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the hit-and-run crash.
Both the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office will be requesting charges on the driver.
This incident remains under investigation.
