West Bend, Wi – It was a job that required muscle, patience, and precision as the team from Glass Doctor of West Bend, WI, tackled the replacement of a front windshield on a Class A mobile home.
Shop owner Josh Uelmen said while he and his crew are accustomed to handling big jobs, this one presented a unique challenge.
“The glass alone weighs about 250 pounds,” Uelmen said. “On top of that, there’s a rubber gasket that encircles the entire opening. That makes the fit tight, and it doesn’t leave much room for error.”

Uelmen’s dad stopped for “the show” but mainly to lend a hand and some old-school expertise.
Using some creative assist, the crew carefully removed the damaged glass and then maneuvered the massive new pane into place. The swap required coordination from multiple angles to ensure the windshield seated evenly without cracking.

Despite the tricky setup, Uelmen said the satisfaction comes when the customer drives away safe and sound.
“Every job has its challenges, but this one really highlighted the strength of our team,” he said. “It’s a good feeling to take on something this complex and deliver.”
