UPDATE | Cold weather advisory across Washington Co., Wi

December 12, 2025 – Washington Co., Wi – A couple important updates on the weather regarding the bitter cold temps and wind chills. The Allenton American Legion will have portable heaters at its larger locations Saturday for wreath placement. Organizer Mark Schellinger said they are going to be “vigilant for the safety of leaders and volunteers.”  Schellinger reminds everyone to dress appropriately for the weather and be mindful of the time you’re spending outdoors as temps are dangerously cold.

Wreath placement ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. and the speeches will be short because of the weather.

The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory for Midnight Tonight through Noon CST Saturday.

    • An additional Advisory is looking likely Saturday evening through Sunday morning.
  • Expect single digits for high temps and around to below zero low temps beginning later tonight through Sunday night (slightly warmer by the immediate Lake Michigan shoreline).
  • Expecting wind chills to bottom out in the -20°F to -30°F range. 
  • Coldest temps and wind chills look to occur Tonight into Saturday Morning and Saturday evening into Sunday Morning. Bitter cold conditions will still exist Sunday night into Monday morning, but wind chills will generally be between -10 and -20°F.
