West Bend, WI – It’s hard to land a Black Hawk helicopter at Regner Park and not have people notice. Today, Sunday, September 7, 2025, the Fred A. Schaefer VFW Post 1393 on Sand Drive in West Bend will join forces with the American Legion Riders to host a National Guard Family Picnic at Regner Park. This is a private event.
The event for families of the National Guard. It features a Black Hawk helicopter. Over 400 people are expected to attend this event.
The VFW will be providing food, entertainment, and activities for the children.
“This is our way of showing our Military Armed Forces how appreciative we are for what they do for our country,” said Mike Henner, Senior Vice Commander of VFW Post 1393.
