December 18, 2025 – Washington Co., Wi – Candidates have started collecting signatures and circulating papers for the April 7, 2026 Spring Election. If a primary is needed that is February 17, 2026. The deadline for nomination paperwork is January 6, 2026.

Candidates began circulating papers December 1, 2026; between 20 – 40 signatures must be submitted by January 6, 2026, to be on the April 7, 2026 ballot.
In the school districts signatures are not required but there is some paperwork to fill out including: ballot access checklist, campaign finance, campaign registration, and declaration of candidacy.
Below is a list of candidates for city council, school board, village board, and Washington County Board. This is a working story, and more information will be posted when details are available.



There are 3 incumbents on the West Bend School Board whose term is up in April 2026 including Kelly Lang, Chad Tamez, and June Kruger.

The City of Hartford, WI has three incumbents up for election including Jeff Turchi, Alderperson, 1st District, Chad Waldvogel, Alderperson, 2nd District and Dist. 3 Tina Savage. According to the clerk’s office, Turchi has already submitted required signatures. The other two candidates have expressed an interest in running again.




There are 4 trustee seats on the Village of Germantown board up for election: District 1 David Baum, District 2 Rick Miller, District 3 Jolene Pieper, and Kristen Borst.

Election Details
Notice is hereby given to qualified electors of the Germantown School District that a school board election will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed.
School Board Seat #3 incumbent Kim Higginbotham
School Board Seat #5 incumbent Eric Brown
The term of office for school board members is three years beginning on Monday, April 27, 2026.
For Candidates
A Campaign Registration Statement and a Declaration of Candidacy must be filed no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in the office of the school district clerk located at the Germantown School District Office, N104W13840 Donges Bay Road, Germantown, WI 53022.
Business hours are 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note the filing office will be closed November 26-28, 2025 and December 22, 2025 – January 2, 2026.
Nomination papers are NOT required.



At the Spring Election on April 7, 2026, three (3) Village Trustee positions will be on the ballot. The top three candidates will serve a term of 2 years.






In the Village of Richfield – Trustees Dan Neu and Jack Lietzau are up for re-election. Both have indicated they are running again. The term of office is two (2) years.

In the Village of Slinger – Three incumbents on the Village Board are up for election and collecting signatures including Jeff Behrend, Lee Fredericks, and Marlyss Thiel.

In the School District of Slinger, candidates up for election in April 2026 include incumbents:
Christopher Goeman – One Year Term (Due to an appointee fulfilling a vacancy)
Brenda Lighthizer – Three Year Term April 2029
Jody Melius-Strupp – Three Year Term April 2029
Term for the one-year begins Monday, April 27, 2026, and expires Sunday, April 25, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Terms for the three-year begin Monday, April 27, 2026, and expire Sunday, April 22, 2029, at 11:59 p.m.
After the results of the April 7, 2026, election, votes will be canvassed. The two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will be elected to the two three-year seats, and the candidate receiving the third-highest number of votes will be elected to the one-year seat.
Requirements for Ballot Placement:
To appear on the Spring Election ballot, candidates must file the following with the School District Clerk (207 Polk St, Slinger, WI) no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026:
Campaign Registration Statement (Form CF-1L)
Declaration of Candidacy (Form EL-162sd) – must be notarized before filing

December 1, 2025 thru January 6, 2026 – Candidate packets will be available for ballot eligibility
December 26, 2025 – 5:00 PM Deadline for Incumbents to File Notice of Noncandidacy
January 6, 2026 – 5:00 PM Candidate Deadline for Filing All Ballot Access Documents
In Washington County, all 21 supervisors are up for election. Supervisors serve a 2-year term. As of December 17, 2025, there were eight supervisors who turned in candidacy declaration forms and signatures. Dist. 15 supervisor Lois Krueger-Gundrum of Slinger turned in notification of non-candidacy. A complete list is below.
