October 30, 2025 – West Bend, Wi – Cedar Community is proud to announce the upcoming acquisition of Spero Gardens in Hartford and Spero Heritage in Watertown—marking an exciting new chapter of growth and service expansion for our nonprofit organization.
Since 1953, Cedar Community has been a nonprofit provider of faith-based and award-winning care and services for seniors aged 55 and better in West Bend. Nicole Pretre, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cedar Community, remarked, “This milestone is a testament to our ongoing commitment to creating communities where older adults, families, and team members can thrive with purpose, dignity, and joy; to our dedication to delivering the highest quality of care, lifestyle, and services; and to our responsibility to steward our resources wisely—ensuring we are financially well-positioned to continue our work for generations to come. These two new locations will help us broaden our reach and take our core values to even more neighbors in our surrounding communities. We are eager to welcome these new residents and team members to our extended family of campuses.”
Andy Lange, President and Founder of Koru Health, who currently operates the two campuses under the ownership of Spero Senior Ministries, said, “I am incredibly proud of the work of the Koru Health team over the past two years. Our team has brought our compassionate care and expertise to the operations in both Hartford and Watertown. We are proud of the strides we have made in elevating both clinical and residential operations in each community. And while sad to say goodbye to all those who made these campuses such special places, we are confident that our residents and team members are in good hands with the Cedar Community and Wildwood teams.”
The acquisitions mark a new era for Cedar Community, which recently founded Wildwood Senior Services, LLC, a wholly-owned and nonprofit subsidiary to take ownership of the new properties and oversee operations and management of the new campuses. The new entity was founded to support the strategic growth of Cedar Community.
This milestone reflects Cedar Community’s ongoing commitment to faith-based, mission-driven care and our dedication to creating communities where older adults, families, and team members can thrive with purpose, dignity, and joy.
Cedar Community CEO Nicole Pretre affirmed, “Ultimately, this transition marks the ongoing pursuit of intentional and thoughtful efforts to provide services that are excellent in their mission-driven, resident-focus. Transitions can sometimes feel unsettling, yet they also function as doorways—opportunities to step into something new.”
The campuses will come under the ownership of Wildwood Senior Services, LLC, beginning December 1, 2025. Day-to-day operations will continue under the campuses’ current operator, Koru Health, until February 1, 2026. At that time, operations will transition to Wildwood Senior Services, LLC.
