March 20, 2026 – West Bend, Wi – LeadingAge, the national association representing more than 5,300 nonprofit and mission-driven aging services providers, is in the final year of a three-year strategic plan focusing on advocacy, workforce challenges, funding for affordable senior housing, and providing support for its members nationwide. As part of this momentum, Nicole Pretre, president and CEO of Cedar Community, has been appointed to serve on the LeadingAge Board of Directors.
Based in Washington, D.C., LeadingAge works in collaboration with partners across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico to advance policies and initiatives that improve care and services for older adults.
Its membership spans the full continuum of aging services, including skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, affordable housing, hospice, and home- and community-based services.
LeadingAge has achieved significant policy progress over the past year, including efforts to reverse nursing home staffing mandates, oppose Medicaid funding restrictions, and advocate for increased investment in affordable housing as the number of older adults experiencing housing instability grows.
In addition, the organization continues to expand educational resources and tools to help providers strengthen their workforce, leadership capacity, and operational resilience.
Pretre joins a distinguished group of new board members who will help guide LeadingAge’s vision for the future of aging services. Her leadership at Cedar Community brings valuable insight into delivering comprehensive, person-centered care across multiple campuses.
