March 6, 2026 – Heerenveen, NL – It’s a new day at the Thailf in Heerenveen and round two of the Sprint Championships is underway. Jordan Stolz enters the day in second place behind Dutch skater Jenning De Boo.

According to ISU-skating, “The American had come to Heerenveen with the ambition of taking the World Sprint and the World Allround titles. That first goal is in jeopardy after the first day of the Sprint tournament.”

During the post-race interviews Stolz said, “I wanted this Sprint World title, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be [that way] so far.
“I just have to take it one at the time and see what I can get done.”Â
De Boo stands atop the leaderboard at 67.040 and Stolz is at 67.700.
De Boo took first in the 500m and 1000m on Thursday and Stolz took second in both races.
The two are paired against each other in the final race of the 500m today. The pairings for the 1000m have yet to be announced but it’s certain the two will not be paired with each other in that race.
The men’s ISU World Sprint Championships conclude Friday with the second 500m at noon Central Time followed by the final event, the second 1000m.
