Flood watch in effect 4 p.m. through Sunday morning for West Bend/Washington County, Wi

August 16, 2025Washington Co., Wi – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for West Bend, Washington County, Wi, and the surrounding communities from 4 p.m. until Sunday morning, August 17, 2025.

…FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING…

Property loss management

* WHAT…Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE…Portions of east central, south central, and southeast Wisconsin, including the following counties, in east central Wisconsin, Fond du Lac and Sheboygan. In south central Wisconsin, Columbia, Dane, Green, Green Lake, Iowa, Lafayette, Marquette, Rock and Sauk. In southeast Wisconsin, Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha.

* WHEN…From 4 PM CDT this afternoon through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS…Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Repeated rounds of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall rates from this afternoon through tonight may produce ponding of water on roads, especially in urban areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

COLUMBIA…WASHINGTON…DODGE AND SHEBOYGAN COUNTIES…

Property loss management

At 1236 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Elkhart Lake to near Kewaskum to near Juneau, moving
southeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include…
Sheboygan, West Bend, Watertown, Beaver Dam, Hartford, Plymouth,
Sheboygan Falls, Jackson, Mayville, Slinger, Columbus, Kewaskum,
Horicon, Howards Grove, Juneau, Oostburg, Lomira, Belgium, Fredonia,
and Kohler.

People attending The Dodge County Fair in Beaver Dam should seek
safe shelter immediately.
