Hartford, Wi – Hartford Union High School’s H-Club is a service organization for student athletes and one its former advisors, Angie Hall was just diagnosed with ALS. For 20 years, she was a phy-ed/health teacher, Educator of the Year in 2019, coached gymnastics and track, was Best Buddies advisor, H-Club advisor, Emergency Response Team member, and a Hartford EMT.
Prior to teaching, Hall went to UW-Whitewater where she was an All-American Gymnast and played on the golf team. Since the diagnosis, she has filed for disability and is no longer working. Despite all of this, Hall has made it her mission to continue helping others and she still comes to school 3-4 times per week to mentor a new teacher.
On Sunday, October 5, Best Buddies and H-Club will be participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS in West Allis, registered as team HALL STRONG! The team will have over 50 people walking in her honor. Hall will be there as well.
On Sunday October 26, H-Club is hosting a “Hall”-oween fundraiser to help her and her family with the costs associated with terrible disease. This is a community event that will have bouncy houses, carnival games, concessions, basket raffles, food, music, and trick or treating.
Well written for an amazing person! (Poorly timed FYI, but many people of faith do not participate in “Halloween”. I usually recommend the wording Fall Festival, Harvest Festival, Costume Party, and Trunk and treat.). Hartford loves spoooky fun, and it is a great cause. I hope everyone is kind with my humble input for the great cause.
