September 15, 2025 – Sheboygan Co., WI – On Sunday, September 14, 2025, while performing a security check at the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, a Correctional Officer observed an inmate who was unresponsive in the shower of the housing unit.
The inmate was removed from the shower, and despite lifesaving efforts of our correctional staff, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Sheboygan County Medical Examiner was contacted, along with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, to conduct a thorough, transparent, external investigation of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The inmate is identified as Pao Lee (65).
As this is an open investigation, we will not be releasing any further information or details relating to this incident until both the Medical Examiner and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office complete their investigation.
