Obituary | Lawrence L. “Larry” Klotz Jr., 80, of Oshkosh, Wi

August 5, 2025 – Oshkosh, Wi – Lawrence L. “Larry” Klotz Jr., 80, of Oshkosh, was born into eternity on July 28, 2025.

Larry Klotz was born on September 5, 1944, in Texas; Growing up in Menomonee Falls WI, where he attended St. Anthony’s School, eventually graduating from Francis Jordan High School.

At 17, Larry enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a signalman where he completed a tour of duty serving our country from the Gulf of Mexico all the way to the Indian Ocean.

Following his military service Larry returned to Wisconsin and attended college, ultimately earning a Master’s Degree as a teacher. He worked in the Fond du Lac school district where he taught history as well coordinating extracurricular activities and coaching multiple sports.

When not teaching Larry enjoyed golf, playing pool, and collecting records. He was an avid Jazz fan as well as following other unique and eclectic musical styles, as well as being particularly fond of The Grateful Dead. He was also a fan of science fiction and fantasy. He enjoyed J.R.R. Tolkien and Frank Herbert books especially. His legacy of love for music and the arts is carried on with his children, both of whom were greatly impacted by his influences.

Those Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory include two children, Joe (Brianna) Klotz and Alexandra (Loren) Lindemann; three grandchildren, Jonah, Hannah, and Sebastian; his siblings, Chuck, Chris, Diane, Roxanne, Marianne, and Tony; as well as a large extended family.

VISITATION: Larry’s family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary’s Lomira School Hall, 653 Milwaukee Street, in Lomira, on August 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. until Noon.

SERVICE: A Mass of Christian Burial for Larry will be held at Noon on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira with Rev. Nathaniel Miniatt officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the parish cemetery. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at Oblio’s Lounge, 434 North Main Street, in Oshkosh.
