November 24, 2025 – Fond du Lac Co., Wi – Fond du Lac County reported a fatal hunting accident during the opening weekend of gun-deer season. Today authorities released the name of the victim.

According to the Sheriff the 24-year-old male identified: Michael Kottke of Lomira.

November 23, 2025 – Fond du Lac Co., Wi – On Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 8:28 p.m. the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call from the area of Stumpf Road and Wild Goose Road in the Town of Oakfield, Fond du Lac County.

The caller located a subject, who was hunting near this location earlier in the day, deceased near a tree stand from an apparent gun shot wound.
Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Lifestar Ambulance, and Oakfield Fire Department responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigation showed the subject, identified as a 24-year-old male from Lomira, had a gunshot wound from what is believed to be an unintended discharge.
No further information is being released at this time.
