May 13, 2025 – West Bend, Wi – Shelley Hyde is joining the West Bend School District as the new principal at McLane Elementary School. Hyde currently serves as principal of Kewaskum Elementary School. She will take over at McLane on July 1, 2025, replacing Andy Kasik, who is retiring after 29 years with the West Bend School District, 17 as principal at McLane.
Hyde has been principal at Kewaskum Elementary since July 2021. She began her career at Decorah Elementary School as a special education teacher. She was named the associate principal at Sheboygan Falls Elementary School in October 2018.
“Shelley Hyde is an experienced elementary administrator with a record of engagement with students, staff, and families. This established track record of excellent elementary school leadership will allow her to hit the ground running,” said Jen Wimmer, superintendent.
Hyde has her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Psychology from UW-Green Bay and a Master’s in Exceptional Education from UW-Milwaukee. She has Wisconsin certification in principal, pupil services, and special education director.
Andy Kasik will complete his long tenure with the West Bend School District on June 30, 2025.
