West Bend, WI – Leonard (Lenny) Arnold McGinnis passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 8, 2025. Born on July 1, 1948 to Wanita (nee Heslip) and Leonard McGinnis Sr in Madison WI.
He attended and graduated from Madison East High School in 1966. After graduating he enlisted in the Navy and was a cook on two naval ships during Vietnam.
After being honorably discharged he met the love of his life Sheila on a blind date, and after a three-month courtship they were married on November 20, 1971. In his later years he devoted his time delivering for meals on wheels.
Lenny leaves behind his beloved wife Sheila, four children Teresa Rutkowski, Steven McGinnis, Kevin McGinnis (Leah), and Andrea (Jarrod) Lehnerz, his chiweenie Oscar, fifteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters Maryann (Larry) Hamlielec and Brenda Moura.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law Joyce (nee Dressler) and Harold Spurgin.
Visitation and Funeral will be held on July 19, 2025, at the Fifth Avenue Methodist Church in West Bend. Visitation will start at 4 p.m. and the funeral will proceed at 6 p.m. with a light luncheon after.
