Power outages in West Bend & Hartford, in Washington County, WI

August 16, 2025 – Washington Co., WI – A big crack of lightning made a lot of neighbors jump in West Bend, WI, on Saturday afternoon as a strong line of storms moved through the area. We Energies said nearly 300 people in West Bend lost power along with 10 customers in Hartford.  Did you lose power? Be sure to leave your location and the time of the outage.

We Energies repair crews are on site and expect to have power back by early Sunday morning.

Along with the lightning and rain there were strong winds that damaged trees near Silverbrook Drive in West Bend, Wi.

Looking ahead in the forecast from the National Weather Service:

A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7am, then a slight chance of showers between 7am and 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday Night – A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 66. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Monday – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday Night – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
