Dodge Co., WI – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous reports today of individuals impersonating themselves as a sheriff’s deputy.
The individual is calling from a spoofed phone number of the sheriff’s office and identifying as a deputy with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
They inform you there is a warrant out for your arrest or that you have missed jury duty resulting in a warrant.
They tell you that if you do not satisfy the warrant immediately with them, deputies will respond to your residence and place you under arrest. THIS IS A SCAM!
Law Enforcement will never ask you for money over the phone.
The individual will use all sorts of scare tactics to get you to comply, so the best course of action is to immediately hang up on them.
If you have fallen victim to this scam, immediately report this to your local law enforcement agency.
