Several people injured in Kewaskum house fire | By Chief Mark Groeschel

September 18, 2025 – Kewaskum, WI – On the morning of September 18, 2025, the Kewaskum Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 541 Habeck Street in the Village of Kewaskum.

Upon arrival, flames were visible from the exterior four-seasons room, which had extended into the home and attic.

One Kewaskum firefighter was injured while battling the blaze and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The residents of the home were also transported and treated for smoke inhalation. In addition, one neighbor suffered injuries after tripping over a firehose at the scene.

The Boltonville Fire Department and West Bend Fire Department provided mutual aid during firefighting operations. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Kewaskum
Police Department with securing the scene.

At this time, preliminary investigation indicates the fire originated in the exterior four-seasons room and is believed to be electrical in nature.
