The call at 3498 Hwy 33 was initially reported as a fire in the attic.

Agencies responding included:

Newburg Fire Department, West Bend Fire Department, Fillmore Fire Department, Ozaukee Central Fire Department, Fredonia Fire Department, Cedarburg Fire Department, Jackson Fire Department, Waubeka Fire Department, and Port Washington Fire/Rescue.

Questioned why so many agencies, Newburg FD said, “Mutual aid companies were requested based on predetermined mutual aid cards that are activated as the incident is upgraded.
Given the size and type of structure, lack of hydrants, extreme cold, and anticipated extended operations, upgrading to a working still appropriately triggered additional resources to support fire attack, water supply, crew rotation, and firefighter safety.”

This is a working story and more information will be posted when details are available.
