March 4, 2026 – Hartford, WI – The Hartford Plan Commission will discuss a proposal during its March 9, 2026 meeting on whether to approve a new car wash on E. Sumner Street.

A Tommy’s Express Car Wash is being proposed for 1310 E. Sumner Street. The spot previously was home to Thielmann Heating and Cooling. That company moved out of the building in Hartford more than a year ago and set up shop further east on Highway 60, closer to Slinger, WI.
According to the proposal the car wash would be 4,574-square-feet on a 1.78-acre parcel.

The current building will be demolished.
According to the agenda the Planning staff recommentds approval of the site plan and architectural plan. There are 17 conditions that need to be met for the project to move forward.
The Hartford Plan Commission meets at 6 p.m. on March 9, 2026, in the lower level of City Hall in the council chambers, 109 N. Main Street. The meeting is open to the public.

Hartford has a number of car washes including Mr. D Car Wash on E. Sumner and Uncle Larry’s Car Wash a bit further east on Highway 60.
