December 10, 2025 – Dodge Co., Wi – UPDATE- State Highway 28 between Horicon and Mayville closed according to the Dodge County Sheriff due to a serious injury crash.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a three-vehicle, serious-injury crash which occurred on State Highway 28 near Old Highway 28, in the Village of Kekoskee.
At approximately 5:44am, Wednesday December 10, 2025, members of the sheriff’s office responded to reports of a serious injury crash on State Hwy 28 just east of Horicon. Initial investigation showed a passenger car and pickup truck were westbound on State Hwy 28.
The driver of the pickup truck passed the passenger car. After doing so, the driver lost control, entering the eastbound lanes of State Highway 28 and struck a semi tractor trailer that was traveling eastbound on State Highway 28.
The driver of the pickup truck was identified as a 43-year-old man from Columbus Wisconsin. He was transported to Marshfield Medical Center – Beaver Dam (MMC) for treatment of suspected serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the passenger car was identified as a 30-year-old man from Mayville Wisconsin. He was uninjured.
The driver of the semi was identified as 37-year-old man from Mayville Wisconsin. He was transported via ambulance to MMC with non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time of the crash, snow was still falling and blowing across roadways with poor visibility and road conditions. We urge drivers to use extra care when driving in these conditions. State Highway 28 remained closed to traffic for approximately two and a half hours for crash investigation and cleanup.
Also responding to the scene were the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team, Horicon Police Department, Mayville Police Department, Beaver Dam Paramedics, Horicon Fire Department and EMS, Mayville EMS. Burnett Fire Department, Juneau Fire Department, Dodge County Emergency Response Team and the Dodge County Highway Department.
Currently, this crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
