VIDEO | REAL ESTATE | More details released on wall collapse in Slinger

December 21, 2025 – Slinger, Wi – More details are being released, including a video, regarding a wall collapse on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in the Village of Slinger. The incident was initially reported as an “explosion.”

According to the Slinger Fire Department, “On arrival, a field stone detached garage was found to had a wall collapse. The power was shut off to the building and some property was removed prior to tear down of the structure. No injuries occurred.”

Below is the initial story as reported, Dec. 18, 2025.

December 18, 2025 – Slinger, Wi – Neighbors in the Village of Slinger say it “sounded like an explosion” however, police say the incident was tied to the wall of a garage collapsing. Details are below.

Slinger Police Lt. Nicholas Garro said the department received a call at 12:11 p.m. regarding a report of an explosion. “According to the CAD call a wall collapsed on a garage and it was reported to us a building exploded,” he said.

The incident happened in the 100 block of W. Washington Street.

Lt. Garro said the area was a garage behind a residence.  Nobody was injured in the incident and the cause, according to police may have been due to the age of the building.

On a side note: Following up on a story published earlier this week regarding the recovery of a stolen emu display from Piggly Wiggly in Slinger. Police said the two people accused in the theft are adults from the City of West Bend, WI.

The emu went missing in March 2025; it was part of a Shanky’s Whip, Irish Whiskey display.
