January 19, 2026 – Washington Co., Wi – Schools and businesses are announcing they will be closed today because of threatening weather conditions and others are closed in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

-Ozaukee Christian had a planned closing in honor of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
– Area banks and the U.S. Post Office are closed today in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The National Weather Service posted an update regarding the blowing snow and dangerous cold through this morning, and the potential for additional snowfall Tuesday evening into early Wednesday.
Blowing Snow through this Morning
- Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph through this morning
- Reduced visibilities are likely at times
- Roads may remain snow covered because of the blowing/drifting snow
- Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through noon today
- Wind gusts ease to 25 to 30 MPH this afternoon, with a diminishing blowing snow threat
Dangerously Cold Wind Chills through this Morning
- A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect until 12 pm today.
- Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph
- Wind chills of -20 to -30 through this morning
- Wind chills remaining -10 to -20 this afternoon into Tuesday morning
Snow: Tuesday Evening into Early Wednesday
- Another system will produce 1 to 3 inches of snow across southern Wisconsin Tuesday night into Wednesday.
- Up to 4 inches is possible in a localized band, but confidence in placement is low.
