The National Weather Service is predicting heavy snowfall after noon on Tuesday with the possibility of 6 to 9 inches of snow inland. A winter weather warning is in effect until 3 a.m. Wednesday, January 10.
Across Washington County, Wi the plows and salters have been out since early morning. A brine base was applied to the roads on Monday. As of 11 a.m. neighbors across Hartford, Kewaskum, Slinger, and Myra have received about an inch of heavy, wet snow.

Heavy snow clings to berries and branches as snowfall is expected to continue through Tuesday evening.

Schools across Washington County, Wi and some local businesses are taking a hard pass on the day as accumulation is expected to intensify by this afternoon.
Below are some messages that went out to students and staff on Monday.
Slinger superintendent Jim Curler said the Slinger School District has cancelled school on Tuesday. “Due to predicted dangerous weather conditions, the Slinger School District will be closed TOMORROW, Tuesday, January 9, 2024. No after-school activities. No Kool Kids.”
Hartford Union High School – Boys Basketball game has been changed due to inclement weather and the school closure, Tuesday, January 9.

Kewaskum School District – Due to inclement weather, there will be no school on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. This includes St. Lucas and Holy Trinity schools.
Erin School District – classes cancelled Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Other schools are expected to follow suit.
