West Bend woman, 63, cited for OWI after transporting grandchild from daycare

November 11, 2019 – West Bend, WI – A 63-year-old West Bend woman was arrested for her third OWI after police were called to a daycare on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 5:36 p.m.  According to police the staff at the daycare said “a possible impaired driver arrived to pick up her grandchild.”

West Bend Officers located the 63-year-old female at her residence, 1100 Block West Washington Street, and observed signs she was intoxicated. The woman failed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI-3rd Offense with a Passenger Under 16.

OWI / POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
West Washington Street and Villa Park Drive
On Thursday, November 7 2019 at 11:06AM, the West Bend Police Department received several calls about a possible impaired driver. West Bend Officers located the vehicle and found the driver slumped over the wheel parked on Villa Park Drive and Washington Street. The officers identified the driver as a 40-year-old man who showed signs of impairment. The driver failed standardized field sobriety tests. The officers located drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested for OWI and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

OWI / CHILD NEGLECT
1100 block South Main Street
On Saturday, November 9 2019 at 11:39PM a citizen reported a minor vehicle collision in the parking lot of a business. A West Bend Officer located the vehicles. The investigation determined that after the collision and before police arrived the driver of the striking vehicle switched seats with his sober wife. The original driver of the striking vehicle, identified as a 45-year-old man was intoxicated, failed standardized field sobriety test, provided a PBT sample of .134 and was arrested for OWI. After the OWI blood draw, the wife came to the police department to pick up her husband and left their 2-year-old and 4-year old children home alone. The 40-year-old woman was arrested for Child Neglect.
