12-point buck tips the scales at nearly 200 pounds for bow hunter in Washington County, WI

November 17, 2023 – Washington Co., WI – “I just made some grunt calls and looked up and he was like, 100 yards across the field from me. He came running straight to me straight into my calls and I couldn’t believe what was happening,” said Bryan Miller about his bow-hunting experience in Washington County, WI.

“My shot was at such a steep angle, but I hit him close to the spine,” said Miller. “It was a vital shot, and he went about 150 yards and then dropped.”

Miller went to look for him the next day with his dad.

“It was pretty cool how it all went down and when we found him the size of his body was, he looked so ginormous; he had so much fat on him,” Miller said.

The 12-pointer had an inside spread measurement of 17 inches. “Dressed out he was about 165 pounds, so his live weight was probably close to 200 pounds,” he said.

The age of the buck, according to Miller, was about 4-and-a-half years old.
