Jordan Stolz ready for 2026 #WinterOlympic debut

February 10, 2026 – Milan, Italy – Ciao from Milan, Italy. Home of the 2026 #WinterOlympics. Gold-medal favorite Jordan Stolz from the Town of Wayne is set to skate Wednesday, February 11, in the first of four long-track competitions.

Stolz told ISU-Skating.comI’m just doing what I know I can do, and so far, I’m feeling really good, and I think I’ll be good tomorrow if I get a clean race.”

According to ISU-Skating.com Stolz is “looking at his results over recent seasons, Stolz would agree that the 1000m has been his most consistent distance, but he doesn’t want to speculate about medal chances.

“I’m feeling really good right now, so I think I should just focus on skating a good race.”

If Stolz wins, he’ll follow in the footsteps of his mentor Shani Davis (USA), who won the distance at the 2006 and 2010 Olympic Games.

Arriving in Milan, Italy

All flights were great. Just an hour delay getting out of Jersey. Milan is warm – about 48 degrees. Considering what I left, it feels like summer.

Managed the train and underground with some help. Luckily most speak English. My apartment is 2 blocks from the rail and will take the red line directly to the skating venue.

Spent most of Monday/ Tuesday in air and at media center in Milan.

Running on little sleep as overnight flight was like trying to get comfortable in a space the size of a butter box.

Peacock and NBCsports.com have been broadcasting the races. #OlympicGames

On a side note:

Milan has totally wrapped its arms around the 2026 Winter Olympics. The artwork, even in the metro/train stations has been updated to feature history of the Olympics.  Look who I found in the speedskating section.

Toting a 50-pound backpack for the next 3 weeks and thankful for the training from #A1Health&Fitness in West Bend, Wi.  Helping to get me in shape for the big #OlympicAdventure.  PS – Photo take after I was already halfway up the 4 flights of stairs.
