Winter Olympic fans at Cedar Community cheer Jordan Stolz

Washington Co., Wi – It’s the last day for speedskating and one final event for Jordan Stolz and plenty of fans back home are sending good vibes and well wishes as he competes for another medal in the Mass Start.
At Cedar Community in West Bend, Wi, residents signed two huge poster cards with encouragment and praise for Stolz. Some of the messages included: “You make us proud!”

Other messages include: “So proud of you,” and “U R making your hometown proud.”

There’s also a mention, “Please come visit Cedar Ridge again!”

It was April 2024 when Stolz made a guest appearance at Cedar Ridge. He spoke to a full house, answering questions and posing for pictures, much to the delight of residents.

After the visit, where Stolz showed off his skates and his collection of World Cup medals, the neighbors at Cedar Community felt they had a vest interest in the young skaters future.

During the Olympics, residents would gather in the Grand Hall wearing their red, white and blue and cheering their adopted gold-medal “grandson.”

Stolz will skate in the Mass Start on Saturday afternoon. It’s a full slate of 16-lap races including a semifinal for men and women and then the final for each.

As far as strategy is concerned, coach Bob Corby relays what may be possible.

Corby said, if nothing else, skaters “will be flying.”
