Slinger H.S. hosts Amazing Event for Special Needs Athletes

Slinger, WI – On Saturday, February 25, 2023, there will be an amazing event for Special Needs athletes held at Slinger High School.

Amazing

According to organizer Tony Dobson, “Our goal is to get as many fans as possible in the Slinger High School gym by 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning.”

This event features adaptive needs basketball teams from the Hartford Hawks and Dodge County Red Birds / Eagles taking on athletes from Slinger and Hartford High Schools. This will be the second time running this event.

“The goal of this event is to provide amazing Adaptive Needs athletes with an experience they will never forget,” said Dobson.

Games start at 11:45 a.m. on the main and small courts. Games tip off hourly through 3:45 p.m.

This year teams will be playing against Slinger Football, Slinger Baseball, Slinger Girls Basketball, Slinger Boys Basketball, Slinger Fast Pitch Softball, Hartford Football and Hartford H- Club Athletes.

”In this event you will see two rival high schools come together to promote 50 special needs athletes and make this a day they will never forget,” said Dobson.

The Slinger Pep Band will perform as the athletes warm up as well as a Light Show for introductions of all athletes.

The goal is to fill the stands for these amazing athletes and provide an experience for them they rarely, if ever, get.
