Deer rut report – 12 crashes overnight | By Dodge Co. Sheriff

November 5, 2025 – Dodge Co., Wi – As the iconic Wisconsin white-tailed deer enter their mating season, known as the “rut,” the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department has valuable insights to share. Deputies frequently respond to car-deer accidents, giving a unique perspective on the peak days for deer activity.

To keep our community informed and safe, we want to share this information with you. By staying vigilant while driving, you can help reduce the risk of accidents. Additionally, for our hunting enthusiasts, we’ll highlight days that may present excellent opportunities for deer stands.

Throughout this rut season, we will provide daily updates on the number of car-deer accidents reported in the last 24 hours. Last year, our highest number of incidents occurred on November 8, with 10 reported accidents.

These updates will be posted daily at approximately 9 a.m. over the coming weeks.

In the last 24 hours, we have had 12 car-deer accidents.
