Dog dies in house fire in Town of Addison | By Sgt Alexander Herriges

November 7, 2025 – Town of Addison, Wi – On Friday, November 7, 2025, at 2:49 a.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a house fire in the 200 block of Weis St in the Town of Addison.

The incident was reported by the homeowner who believed that the fire was coming from the kitchen of the residence.  The homeowner reported that all occupants of the residence had evacuated.

Upon the arrival of the first deputy on scene, he confirmed that all residents had made it outside of the home.

No flames were visible but there was heavy smoke coming from the residence.  The Allenton Fire Department responded to the scene and were assisted by departments from Kohlsville, Slinger, Hartford, and St Lawrence.

The damage to the residence and its contents due to the heavy smoke was estimated at $300,000.

The homeowner’s dog was also trapped in the residence and was located deceased.  The origin of the fire was not suspicious in nature, and it is believed to have originated in the kitchen of the home.  The American Red Cross Southeast Wisconsin Region was contacted to provide assistance to the family.
