One person was killed following an accident involving two semis on I-41 north of State Highway 49 in the Township of Lomira.
Authorities in Dodge County said the accident happened Wednesday morning at 2:13 a.m. after a semi with tank trailer (hauling water) was traveling north on I-41 and initiated a U-turn through the median to travel south on I-41.
A semi with box trailer was traveling south on I-41 and struck the tank trailer as it crossed into the southbound traffic lanes.
The driver of the semi with tank trailer was not hurt but the driver of the semi with box trailer was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
Names are being withheld pending notification of family. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
I-41 southbound traffic remains closed while the crash is being investigated.
Assisting at the scene was: Fond du lac County Sheriff’s Department, Fond du lac Paramedics, Brownsville Fire Department and Dodge County Emergency Response Team.
The crash remains under investigation.
