Washington Co., WI – City and Village clerks in Germantown, Hartford, Richfield, Slinger, Kewaskum, West Bend, and the rest of Washington County are prepping for the Spring General Election April 6, 2021. Â If a primary is needed that is February 16, 2021.

Aldermen can start circulating papers December 1, 2020; between 20 – 40 signatures must be submitted by January 5, 2021 to be on the April 2021 ballot.
In the school districts signatures are not required but there is some paperwork to fill out including: ballot access checklist, campaign finance, campaign registration, and declaration of candidacy.
In the Village of Germantown there are four seats up for election; each post carries a 3-year term. In Dist. 1 Terri Kaminski, Trustee, Dist. 2 Daniel Wing, Trustee, Dist. 3 Dennis Myers, Trustee, and Dist. 4 Art Zabel, Trustee.

In the Germantown School District there are two seats up for election including vice president Sarah Larson and clerk Thomas Barney.
In the City of Hartford there are three races on the common council. Dist. 1 Joseph Kohler, Dist. 2 Douglas Carroll and Dist. 3 Tony Garza. These are 3-year terms that begin April 20, 2021.
In Kewaskum, Village President Kevin Scheunemann is up for reelection along with trustees James Wright, James Hovland and David Spenner.
In the Kewaskum School District president Jim Leister is up for election as is newly sworn in board member Ric Leitheiser. During interviews to fill the seat vacated by Mark Sette, Leitheiser did indicate he would run for the post again in April 2021.
In the City of West Bend aldermen up for election include Dist. 2 Mark Allen, Dist. 4 Randy Koehler, Dist. 6 seat open, and Dist. 8 Meghann Kennedy.

In the West Bend School District board members Chris Zwygart and Kurt Rebholz are up for election. No signatures are needed to run for the WBSB however paperwork does need to be submitted by Tuesday, January 5, 2021. A draw will then be conducted to determine ballot order.
In Slinger, Village President Russell Brandt is not running. Scott Stortz has announced his intentions to run for Village President.
Trustees up for election in the Village of Slinger include Rick Gundrum, Richard Kohl, and Dean Otte. Each seat carries a 2-year term. All candidates must turn in 20 or more signatures by January 5, 2021.
Two seats are up on the Slinger School Board including Board President Ken Strupp and Clerk Cherie Rhodes. Each seat carries a 2-year term.
In the Village of Richfield seats up for reelection are: Village President John Jeffords, and Trustees Rock Brandner and Tom Wolff.
