There have been many who have reached out with condolences. Below is a posting to Tom and the Strachota family from friend Joe Hahn.
Tom,
How you will be missed, mostly by your own family, but everyone else you touched in life. I always enjoyed having you involved in Y soccer. When I recruited the fall coach line up I knew my phone call to you would be the most enjoyable because I knew you would say yes, “yes I will coach that team and help on the other teams,” be it Elizabeth’s, T.J.’s, Margaret’s or Kathleen’s, everyone could count on you. Everyone wanted to be on your team, that was the only problem you ever gave me in more than a dozen years of your coaching, that there were not more of you. I recall when you found out I was buying grass seed for the soccer fields, and a 50lb. bag of premier grass seed showing up at the Y the next day. Your beloved Patty was always right there to help as you were there, and your ability to be a team was evident to all.
So we will really miss you, Tom, and always love you. Joe Hahn
