Germantown police officer suffers minor injuries following high speed chase | Police Chief Mike Snow

November 8, 2021 – Washington County, WI – On Sunday, November 7, 2021, shortly before 10 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a vehicle driving recklessly in the area of USH 41 southbound and Holy Hill Rd. A Germantown police officer located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.

The vehicle fled and a pursuit was initiated by the officer. The officer was initially assisted by a deputy from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
During the pursuit, it was learned that the vehicle was stolen and wanted in connection with a recent armed robbery in the city of Stevens Point, WI.
The pursuit entered the City of Milwaukee and officers were assisted by the City of Milwaukee Police Department.
During the pursuit, the driver of the suspect vehicle attempted to turn left onto a side street. The driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with the rear end of a parked car.
The Germantown officer slowed to stop behind the suspect vehicle. The driver of the suspect vehicle backed into the Germantown squad and then left the scene at a high rate of speed. The Germantown squad sustained significant damage and was disabled because of the actions of the suspect.
The pursuit was continued by the City of Milwaukee and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. A short time later the suspect vehicle came to a stop and the driver was arrested. A loaded firearm was located on the seat of the suspect vehicle.
The Germantown officer did receive minor injuries because of the collision.
The following charges will be referred to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office; Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer, Hit and Run to an Occupied Vehicle, and 1st Degree Reckless Endangering Safety.
This incident continues to be investigated by the Stevens Point Police Department.
