Nov. 22, 2018 – Slinger, WI – Hat tip to Legendary Whitetails for sponsoring the Born Learning Trail in Slinger.

Legendary Whitetails worked in partnership with the Village of Slinger, United Way of Washington County, JH Hassinger Construction and Heartland Construction.

The trail will follow a path marked with colorful signs adjacent to Brendan’s Playground and Rueckl Field in Slinger; that’s located behind Slinger Middle School.

Born Learning research shows parents and caregivers often don’t know how to prepare children for school, or feel they don’t have time to do what’s needed.

The Born Learning Trail was installed by employees of Legendary Whitetails in partnership with the Village of Slinger.

“Legendary Whitetails moved to Slinger almost 10 year ago.  The engaging environment built by village and the other community partners is a hallmark of welcoming and keeping businesses in Wisconsin,” said Gregg Huffman, President of Legendary Whitetails.

“Thanks to United Way of Washington County for being the inspiration of this modest trail.  Equal thanks to JH Hassinger Construction and Heartland Construction for stepping up in these busy days of summer to donate materials and services.  On behalf of Legendary Whitetails, I am very proud of our small part in the Born Learning Trail initiative and the Slinger community.”

“The Born Learning Trail is an investment in our future.  We are extremely appreciative of Legendary Whitetails leadership to bring the Born Learning Trail and School Readiness initiative to Slinger,” said Kristin Brandner, Executive Director of United Way of Washington County.

“This project is a fantastic example of how impact is created when local people and partners work together to build a stronger community. It demonstrates their commitment to the people of this community. They are a great example of what it looks like to give back.”

Current Born Learning trails are at the Public Library in Hartford, two in West Bend at the Kettlw Moraine YMCA and Villa Park and then this one in Slinger.
