Letter to the Editor | Kewaskum to consider hotel & sports complex tonight | By Allen & Barbara Heberer

May 26, 2026 – Village of Kewaskum, Wi – Tonight, May 26, 2026 at 7 p.m. there is a Village of Kewaskum plan commission meeting to discuss two topics. The first is parking and storage of vehicles, recreational vehicles and equipment.
Letter to the Editor
The more concerning is amendments to multifamily residential district concerning height not exceed 35 feet, hotels not to exceed 60 feet and sports complexes not to exceed 75 feet all keeping the village’s desired community character.
We don’t believe most of the residents of Kewaskum know what is being proposed for the subdivision that is being developed.
The sports complex, apartment buildings, assisted living, commercial buildings, townhouses and homes because all discussion is done in closed session.
When we have asked if our schools can accommodate more children we have been told yes. But no studies have been done.
We have questioned if our police department and fire department can handle the extra population. No studies have been done.

We have inquired who pays for garbage and recycling until TID 6 is completed? We were told they don’t understand the question in the way it was asked.

We have made the administrator aware of the 3 eagles nest within the development and he assures us they won’t be affected. But the concept plan on the village website shows the roads and houses in the area of the nests.
We know this affects all of us on Conrad Street because the traffic flow is going to increase and the sports complex will be against our properties but we feel this affects all of the residents in the Village and most do not know this subdivision is being developed.
Attached is a concept plan that is on the Village website.
