Man in custody on attempted homicide charge – appearing this afternoon in Washington County Circuit Court | By Lt. Brian McAndrews

April 30, 2025 – West Bend, Wi – A 20-year-old Milwaukee man will be in Washington County Circuit Court for a bail hearing this afternoon pending a charging decision by the District Attorney. The case stems from an alleged shooting in the 200 block of N. Main Street. Details are below.

West Bend Police man

On April 28, 2025, at 10:25 a.m. a West Bend Police officer in the downtown area was approached by a man who inquired about a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of N. Main Street the previous evening.

At that time, no incident had been reported, and West Bend officers and detectives immediately initiated an investigation.

At 2:32 p.m. on April 28, 2025, a 44-year-old Horicon woman came to the West Bend Police Department to report discovering a bullet hole in her vehicle. The investigation revealed that on April 27, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m. a verbal and physical altercation occurred in the 200 block N. Main Street and involved two groups of now identified individuals.

During the altercation, a 20-year-old Milwaukee man allegedly brandished a handgun and discharged it at and in the direction of others involved in the dispute. There were no reported injuries from the shooting.

On 04/29/25, West Bend detectives, assisted by the Milwaukee Police Department, executed a search warrant at the Milwaukee man’s residence and took him into custody.

The man has been placed in the Washington County Jail being held on a charge of attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide.
