West Bend, WI – Ambassadors from the Stars & Stripes Honor Flight gathered at Cedar Community this week to honor veteran Jim Gorman, 82, for his service in the National Guard.

Gorman was supposed to go on the Honor Flight this coming June, but according to his wife a good friend Larry was aware of his current situation and helped make the in-person Honor Flight event come to fruition.

The special group of veterans gathered, recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and presented Gorman with an envelope full of letters from students who wanted to thank him for his service. The Honor Flight also presented him with a blanket, a special coin and a mighty salute.
