Obituary | Max Thomas Welsing, 53, of Sheboygan, WI

April 11, 2025 – Sheboygan, WI – Max Thomas Welsing, 53, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, at Sharon Richardson Community Hospice in his hometown of Sheboygan, after battling chronic illness for many years. Born on March 16, 1972, Max spent his life deeply rooted in the community that shaped him.

A proud veteran, Max served in the United States Army as a Ranger for three years. His time in the military reflected many of the qualities that defined him throughout his life—loyalty, a strong sense of duty, and an unwavering commitment to those he cared about.

Max was known for his thoughtful and generous nature. He approached life with exuberance and a meticulous attention to detail that touched every aspect of his world. Whether he was crafting something by hand or preparing a meal for loved ones, Max poured care and precision into everything he did.

His hobbies were a reflection of his creative spirit and love for the outdoors. He found joy in woodworking and crafting, often creating pieces that blended function with beauty. Landscaping gave him a way to shape the world around him with intention and pride. Bird watching offered quiet moments of reflection, while cooking allowed him to share warmth and comfort with others.

Family was at the heart of Max’s life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Stephanie Welsing; sons Taylor Welsing and Casey Selk; beloved grandson Mason Allen; mother Bernadette Gromowski; sister JoAnn (Jason) Meloy; brothers Joey (Linda) Winscher and Garrett (Lisa) Winscher; five nephews; and one niece. He was preceded in death by his sister Sunshine Sommer.

Max’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched—with kindness, strength, and an enduring sense of purpose.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his home. Details will be sent separately.
