Strength defined my dad. Strength of body from years of hard work.  Strength of faith from his devotion to the church.  Strength of character from his dedication to his family. I love him dearly. He taught me by example how to be a good man and good father. -Kurt

My Daddy was always there for me, he never said no or I can’t, he always said when and where, “I will be right over.” Being a stay at home mom has its challenges, every time I needed help with babysitting or cleaning he dropped everything and came to help. If the kids missed the bus, he was there to take them or pick them up.

A great memory of mine is spending time canning with him, every year he helped me with my canning, he peeled the tomatoes and we worked together for days to process sauce, and we also did corn, pickles and green beans. He came over often for homemade meals, I learned a lot of my cooking skills from him, he was a great cook.

He spent a lot of time with his grandkids and they loved him too. He was made to be our dad, we always felt loved and he loved being a dad and grandpa. I thank God he was chosen for us and will always miss seeing him. All My love. Melody

My Dad told me often that he loved me, he always said he tried to be the best dad that he could be to all of his kids and that he loved us all equally.  He loved his grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.  He liked to be a jokester and loved to tease! His nurses told me how they found him to be a sweetheart and stories about him teasing them.  He had a big heart and always helped out anyone he could.

I heard often how he was one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.  I listen to his advice which rings in my head today and never wanted to do anything that would disappoint him.  He loved to babysit his grandchildren and was very proud when he changed a poopy diaper, always keeping it off to the side to show me proof he did! He made sure we were raised in faith and to know the love of God. He was Always there for us! Love your daughter Charity

You never realize how much someone teaches you uncle you are older and your children ask, “How did you learn to do that?” The only answer I can give them is that your grandpa Joe, taught me. I learned many things from him like being an understanding dad to my children and how to hang the front door. One of the main things I will miss about my father is every Sunday Kyle, Noah, and I would stop by at his house with chicken and potato wedges and sit, have a beer, and talk about what was going on in our lives. Love and Miss you, Robby

He is further survived by his brother Peter (Ann) Waldkirch, his sister Barbara Schlosser, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
