West Bend, Wi – There’s something brewing on South Main Street in West Bend—and it’s not your average cup of joe. Tommy Pennington, a familiar face to coffee fans across eastern Wisconsin, is bringing his sixth 7 Brew Coffee franchise to life right here in Washington County. For Pennington, this new location is more than just another stand—it’s the closest one yet to home.
“I grew up just 25 minutes away in Mequon,” said Pennington. “Both my parents still live there. This really is as close to a hometown store as I can get right now.”
The 7 Brew stand, currently under construction, will be located just south of the old Panera Bread spot on South Main. The structure seemed to spring up overnight, and that’s because of a prefabricated modular design.
Locally, Marx Masonry, LLC out of Kewaskum, Wi, was hired to do the brick work.

“I was awarded this 7 Brew coffee shop on Main Street West Bend. Tomorrow we will be close to finishing the dumpster brick work. The brick will then be washed next week to make it look pretty again. With the past few days of rain we were able to continue work by enclosing sections off with plastic. I’m still looking for masons for the upcoming work this year,” said Josh Marx.
While 7 Brew’s footprint is compact the new location will feature a full a double-lane drive-thru, allowing for quick service without congestion. “We serve in both lanes,” said Pennington. “It’s part of what makes us different—it’s all about speed, energy, and connection.”
It’s also the people as the franchise leans into genuine customer interaction since the shop has no traditional menu board, the staff will walk up to your car with a tablet and talk you through the menu, tailoring drinks to taste on the spot.
“We’re revolutionizing how people experience drive-thru coffee,” Pennington said. “High energy, great drinks, and amazing people—that’s what makes the difference.”
From classic coffee and cold brews to smoothies, teas, Italian sodas, and energy drinks—plus a wide range of sugar-free options—there’s a vista of choices. And for loyal customers, a rewards program sweetens the deal: every 10 drinks earns you a free one.
So why West Bend?
“We’ve been looking at West Bend since day one,” said Pennington. “Our opening is planned in the next couple of months.
“We’re not just opening a coffee shop,” he said. “We’re bringing a culture.”
For those curious: customers there will be an entrance on both S. Main Street and on the west side off the mall.
As for the inevitable question—why open a coffee shop next to a former one? Pennington said, “We study every market closely. Our concept is just different. The drinks, the energy, the experience—it all stands apart.”
The standalone building also affords a drive-thru where the old Panera did not.
