VIDEO | Local speed skaters take part in ‘Skate with an Olympian’ at the Pettit National Ice Center

Milwaukee, WI – The next generation of speed skaters took to the ice, some for the first time, and participated in the ‘Skate with an Olympian’ event over the weekend at the Pettit National Ice Center.

The free event was initiated by Dirk Stolz, father of Olympian Jordan Stolz. “We started skating as a family and I thought it would be nice to encourage others to try the sport,” he said.

There will be a Learn to Speed Skate class Monday, January 23 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Pettit National Ice Center.  Skates will be provided.  Jordan will be skating with the kids along with coaches.
There will be more classes available if kids are interested.

On a side note: When these twins are 10 years old and Jordan Stolz has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated, this will be quite the memory from when they were just a couple weeks old.
