August 27, 2019 – Town of Polk, WI – There will be a private preview event this afternoon for the new West Bend Surgery Center, 3212 Pleasant Valley Road, in the Town of Polk, on the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin St. Joseph’s Hospital campus.
The event is invitation-only for local leaders and not open to the general public.
A ribbon-cutting will take place Tuesday afternoon followed by brief remarks from:
- Cathy Jacobson, president, Froedtert Health
- Jim Klauck, senior vice president of ancillary services, Froedtert Health
- Ken Schaff, executive director of ambulatory surgery centers, Froedtert Health
Attendees will then have the opportunity to tour the facility.
The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin West Bend Surgery Center will open for patient care on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at its new location on the St. Joseph’s Hospital campus. The West Bend Surgery Center is relocating from Vogt Drive on the West Bend Health Center campus, where it is currently located, to the St. Joseph’s Hospital campus because of the reconstruction of the West Bend Health Center.
The current surgery center treated its last patient Friday, Aug. 16.
The 17,000-square-foot West Bend Surgery Center includes three operating rooms along with two procedure suites for ear/nose/throat, gastrointestinal, general, gynecologic, orthopedic, plastic, and podiatry procedures.
Moving to the new facility at St. Joseph’s Hospital will provide greater convenience to services while freeing up space at the West Bend Health Center campus to best compliment services in the West Bend region. The free-standing center is physically attached to the west side of St. Joseph’s Health Center on the hospital’s campus.
The two construction projects – the West Bend Surgery Center and the West Bend Health Center – constitute a combined $53 million economic investment by Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin in the West Bend area.
