Obit: Roger J. Spaeth, 83, of the Town of Farmington

 

June 15, 2017 – Town of Farmington, WI – Roger J. Spaeth, 83, of the town of Farmington, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Kettle Moraine Gardens.

 

Roger was born on August 28, 1934, on the home farm in the town of Farmington, the son of the late Sebastian and Clara (Schladweiler) Spaeth. On July 4, 1970, he was united in marriage to Joyce Pershke at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Oconomowoc.

 

Roger was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Fr. Casper Rehrl Council #1964, and was on the Boltonville Fire Department for 54 years.

 

He was a lifelong farmer, taking care of the farm that has been in the family for three generations. Roger was a very handy person and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed listening to polka’s, dancing, watching the races, and baseball.

 

Those Roger leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Joyce; a sister, LaVerne (Alois) Doll of West Bend; three brothers-in-law, Harvey (Judy) Perschke Jr, Robert Metzdorf, and Roger Pergande; a special niece, Barb Breuer; special friends, Rich and Sandy McKee; other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores (Harold) Gundrum and Evelyn (Carl) Vogel; two sisters-in-law, Lois Metzdorf and Wanda Pergande; and his parents-in-law, Harvey Sr. and Hilda (nee Huegli) Perschke.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Roger will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 8883 Forest View Road, in St. Michaels. Rev. Edwin Kornath will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

 

Roger’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

 

The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Roger’s arrangements.
