She was born January 26, 1922 on the family farm to John G. and Martha H. Hausmann (nee Gengler).
On August 7, 1943 she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Wollner at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. Joseph preceded her in death on February 9, 1976.
As a child she worked on the Hausmann family farm. She attended Holy Angels grade school and graduated from West Bend High School in 1939. After graduation she worked the soda counter at a pharmacy in West Bend for a short time. After marriage she worked on her husband’s family farm. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild.
She enjoyed playing sheepshead and was in several card clubs. She liked to stay busy by stitching plastic canvas, crocheting, and doing 1000-piece puzzles.
Bernice was a woman of strong faith and prayed the Rosary daily.
Bernice is survived by her 2 children, Martha (Richard) Fechter and Jim (Chris) Wollner, and 6 grandchildren, Angie (Dean) Schelinske, Tracy (Steve) Gergetz, Jenni Fechter, Greg (Kelly) Fechter, Travis (Laurie) Wollner, and Tricia (Mark) Keller. She is further survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Kaylie Schelinske; Nicholas, Adam, Rachel, Ryan, and Anna Gergetz; Mason Fechter; Samantha (Justin) Schultz; and Bo and Luke Keller; 1 great-great-granddaughter Gabby Schultz; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
