Nov. 4, 2018 – Hartford, Wi – James K. Nahay “Jim”, 81, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away on November 2, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born on April 11, 1937 in Bessemer, Michigan to John and Josephine (nee Grendziak) Nahaj. Jim was united in marriage to Karen Laughner on September 24, 1960 in Bessemer, MI.

Jim served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked at American Motors, West Side Dairy, and then as a custodian at Hartford Union High School for over 40 years. Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting hoops in his driveway, but most of all loved to spend time with family and friends.

 


Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Karen, loving children Gail Boerger of Sheboygan Falls, Greg (special friend Jenny) Nahay of Hartford, and Jill (Jack) Kirnberger of Hartford; 3 grandchildren, Amanda, Howard, and Kelly Kirnberger; sister Donna (Russ) Sipponen; sisters-in-law Barb (Mel) Williamson and Carolyn Laughner. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Elizabeth, Maryann (Donald), and Rosemarie (William).


Funeral services for Jim will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027). Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.


In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one’s choice are appreciated.


The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Medical Center in Hartford, the caretakers at the Pavilion at Glacier Valley,

Compassionate Care Hospice, and Comfort Keepers for their loving care of Jim.
