West Bend, WI – The 4th annual Influencers in Aging Awards event was held this week to honor the legacy of Judy Phillips. Cedar Community hosted the event presented by Interfaith Caregivers of Washington County.
Former Interfaith Caregivers executive director Janean Brudvig was selected as the winner of the Judy Phillips 2025 Influencer of the Year Award.
2024 winner Nancy Mehring presented the award. “This year’s winner always has a smile and she has a knack for making people feel good,” said Mehring. “She brightens everyone’s day with her big smile. Many of us have worked with her and she will work day and night to get the job done.”
“This feels surreal to share the stage with all the other nominees who are so worthy,” said Brudvig. “The work at Interfaith was always to lift up our seniors, and lift up our volunteers, it’s to lift up our community and add as much good as possible.”
Other award winners included Lee Harmon, a volunteer at Interfaith Caregivers who has driven nearly 100,000 miles taking seniors to appointments and shopping.
Other winners included Nancy Larson from the West Bend Public Library and Tammy Dickman. “You have no idea how much this award means to me,” said Dickman. “Judy was a very special mentor to me and it’s an honor to be nominated and to share my love for caring for people like Judy did.”
The team at Cedar Community was also recognized with a Spirit of Judy Phillips Award.
Nicole Pretre, president and CEO of Cedar Community. “These people here with me are the reason Cedar Community is what it is,” she said. “This is a 70+ year legacy, and it also is a part of what you have done over the years.”
