March 29, 2026 – Fond du Lac Co., Wi – On Sunday, March 29, 2026, at approximately 4:59 P.M., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a male subject had fallen on a trail near the boat launch area at Mauthe Lake Campground and suffered severe facial injuries.

Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with Campbellsport Ambulance and Kewaskum Fire Department and First Responders.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel determined an 84-year-old male had been walking on the trail when he fell onto the compacted gravel surface. Due to the severity of his injuries, Flight for Life was requested to respond.
Kewaskum Fire Department established a landing zone on the entrance road to Mauthe Lake Campground. The campground entrance was closed for approximately one hour to allow for the safe landing and departure of the medical helicopter.
The patient was subsequently transported by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee for treatment.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Campbellsport Ambulance, Kewaskum Fire Department and First Responders, Flight for Life, and West Bend Ambulance.
